More about me:

 

I am a young woman from Brooklyn, NY.  I am a recent graduate with a B.A. in Sociology (with honors) from Stony Brook University. Outside of my major, I have taken many classes in Russian language and American history. I have many interests from agriculture to politics; fitness to reading.  I love experiencing new things. This past summer, I spent almost every week indoor rockclimbing. In my near future, I intend to own a family farm and to apprentice as a mifwife. 

 

I have been trained by Doula Trainings International  (an internationally acclaimed doula community, which is dedicated to training women in the field of birth work).  I have also been a  professor's assistant  for Sociology of Reproduction and Sociology of Reproduction. Both classes had an emphasis on women's bodies and women's mental health.

 

I am a down-to-earth person, not earthy. I have a very friendly, intimate approach to my services. I love to laugh, and keeping moods light hearted and full of love. The greater majority of my clients have felt like close, intimate friends. I do not use terms like "earth goddess," "universal woman," or create alters for prayer. I have a personal and intrinstic love for God. I believe each woman should trust her body as it is. I help draw natural strength from within and through prayer.

 

I enjoy working with my clients. The bond between doula and their client is not to be underestimated: It is an intimate bond, to be held in the highest esteem. From the time a woman chooses me to be her doula, I am there for her constant support. During labor, I love using massage thearpy/acupressure, my robozo, and aromatherapy with light reduction. What is important to remember is that each woman is in control over her birth. It is important for her well being that her choices be respected.
